After doing so, we are then going to pin point a number of opportunities to give to your affiliates which they can then use to increase sales of your product.

To begin we are going to search for a market by analyzing traffic volume and competition levels.

Firstly, we login to IMeye and select the following columns - Keyword Phrase, Monthly Searches (Phrase Match), Advertiser Comp and Keyword Length.

Then we select the following parameters...

Keyword Phrase:		We are going to type in 'how to'
Monthly Searches:		Set to a Minimum of 5,000 searches a month
Advertiser Comp:		Set to 'high'
Keyword Length:		Minimum of 4 words for each phrase

The reason why we include the phrase 'how to' in this search is because we are trying to find keywords that are being typed into Google by people who are looking for a solution to a problem... or knowledge that they didn't previously have.

It's a pretty neat keyword trick - and the idea would be to then create a product around a 'how to' keyword phrase that is receiving a large number of searches and intercept these people at that point of the search (perhaps using Google Adwords) ...and try and sell them the product!

Of course you could also use a variation of this strategy if you were selling someone else's product as an affiliate.

On another note, I have set the number of keywords to 4. However, you could just make it only 2. Also, I have selected 'high advertiser competition' as that gives us an indication that people are paying for advertising in that market and we can then assume that there is some commercial value. In other words, people are paying for products, whether they be physical, offline, online etc etc. After all we want markets in which there are buyers!

We had 10 pages of results retuned with a few hundred possibilities. However the keyword I have pin pointed here is 'how to bake a cake'. I know it sounds a little dumb.. but this is the beauty of IMeye...

There are 22,000 searches each month for this keyword, and doing a quick search in the Clickbank marketplace, there are very few products for sale specifically in the 'cake baking' niche, so we could really get in there and compete!

Onto the next part of this case study...

Let's say that we went ahead and created this product and created an 'affiliates' page with promotional tools such as banners, text ads and so forth. One thing that we could do to stand out from the other vendors and make affiliates want to promote our product, would be to use IMeye to identify opportunities that they (the affiliates) could take advantage of.

As I mentioned in the 'Affiliate Marketing' case study, one way that affiliate marketers drive free traffic to their main product review websites is by setting up 'feeder sites' (as in 'feeding website traffic') using pages created within Web 2.0 platforms and article directories such as EzineArticles.com. Google likes these type of pages and tends to rank them highly in their search results.

The idea is to find high traffic keywords with low search engine competition, (making it easier to rank), to then post an optimized article to the Ezine Articles network, making the title of the article the exact keyword phrase that they are trying to rank for, getting the article URL into the top 10 of Google and then linking to the review site from within the article.

So we need to find these keywords... and not only ones that our affiliates can feasibly rank for in Google, but ones which don't already have an EzineArticles.com written about them.

To do this, we login to IMeye and select the following parameters: (remember we are still talking about the cake baking niche.)

Keyword Phrase:		We are going to type in 'cake'
Keyword Difficulty:		Set to 'moderate'
Monthly Searches:		Set to a Minimum of 1,000 searches a month
Keyword Length:		Minimum of 3 words for each phrase
Domain Matches:		Set to only include keywords which don't have an Ezine Article associated with them.

After performing this search, what we would do, is extract these keywords to a spreadsheet, upload them to our 'affiliates page', and let THEM do the work writing and posting the articles, rather than you having to do it!

Remember, affiliates like having the research work done for them and by giving them all this information and telling what do do, you should start seeing more people promoting your products and more sales coming your way!
