| As you may know, one way that affiliate marketers drive free traffic to their main product review websites is by setting up 'feeder sites' (as in 'feeding website traffic') using pages created within Web 2.0 platforms such as Squidoo.com. Google likes these type of pages and tends to rank them highly in their search results.
The idea is to find high traffic keywords with low search engine competition, (making it easier to rank) and to then create a page within the Squidoo network, making the page extension the exact keyword phrase you are trying to rank for. For instance, if your keyword phrase was 'lose weight fast', you would want: Squidoo.com/loseweightfast
Then you would fill the page with relevant content, optimize it for the keyword phrase and hopefully it will rank in the top 10 of Google within a couple of weeks.
People searching for that keyword phrase would then see and visit your Squidoo page, read the content, click through to your affiliate review website and hopefully buy whatever it is that you are selling.
The point is that this is considerably faster than making your own website rank in Google, which could take months. That is why many internet marketers use this strategy. The diagram below gives you a further explanation...

So how can IMeye help?
Well, one crucial point here is that if someone has already created a site around a certain keyword phrase, (so to use the earlier example... if someone has already created Squidoo.com/loseweightfast) then you won't obviously be able to register it too and use it to rank in Google.
This is where IMeye really comes into its own because it tells you whether a page has already been created for a particular keyword in each the following websites, all of which you can use for feeder sites:
YouTube, Blogspot, EzineArticles, Squidoo, Hubpages, Ezine Articles, Yahoo Answers and Amazon
Because of this, what you can do when searching for keyword phrases for this purpose, is to set the domain feature to EXCLUDE all keywords that already have a listing in particular feeder site, which will eliminate HOURS of research.
Let's explain this with an example...
Imagine we had a review website promoting a weight loss product and wanted to drive some additional traffic to it using this method. Here's what we would do...
To begin, we login to IMeye and select the following columns - Keyword Phrase, Keyword Difficulty, Monthly Searches (Phrase Match), Keyword Length and Domain Matches.
Then we select the following parameters...
| Keyword Phrase: |
|
We would type in 'Weight Loss' |
| Monthly Searches: |
|
Set to a Minimum of 2,000 searches a month |
| Keyword Difficulty: |
|
Set to 'moderate competition' |
| Keyword Length: |
|
Minimum of 2 words for each phrase |
| Domain Matches: |
|
Set to only include keywords which don't have a Squidoo lens associated with them. |
After doing the above, IMeye listed 15 pages of results and after scanning through the first page, a number of great keywords that DON'T have Squidoo lenses have been retuned. We would then go and create Squidoo lenses with these keywords, rank in Google and get more traffic!
Of course, you could then do the same with the other feeder sites too. And don't forget, I'm giving an example of this in terms of 'affiliate marketing'. You could use this strategy for any online business!
You can see the screenshot from IMeye below. I have blocked some of the results too to protect current IMeye members.
